Police finalise diversions for smooth traffic in Mussoorie

Considering the construction work underway on the Mall Road in Mussoorie, the director general of police Ashok Kumar held a meeting with officers of Dehradun district and issued directions to ensure smooth flow of traffic in view of the Char Dham Yatra and tourist season.

It was decided that all small four-wheelers will be sent towards LBSNAA and Kempty Falls via Spring Road and Waverly Chowk. In case of increased traffic load, the vehicles going towards Mussoorie will be diverted before ITBP camp towards LBSNAA and Kempty Falls via Hathipaon. The vehicles going towards Gangotri and Yamunotri will be sent via Vikasnagar instead of Mussoorie. Vehicles will be parked in the King Craig parking lot on the weekend, especially the vehicles of those tourists who are lodging in hotels without parking facility. Similarly, in case of increased traffic load, the vehicles exiting Mussoorie will be sent towards Dehradun via Barlowgunj and Jhadipani to enable smooth movement of traffic going towards Mussoorie. It was also decided that talks will be held with the local administration for repairing of Spring Road, Waverly Chowk, Camel Back Road and Hathipaon Road to enable smooth flow of one-way traffic.

Additional director general (Crime, Law and Order) V Murugesan, Traffic director Mukhtar Mohsin, deputy inspector general and Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar, Traffic superintendent of police Akshay Konde and other officers were present in the meeting.
