Police get information on seven stranded citizens from Uttarakhand in Sudan

Families of seven people so far have approached the Uttarakhand Police for the safe and swift return of their loved ones from Sudan which is presently in a conflict between the country’s army and paramilitary forces.
The additional director general of police, Law and Order, V Murugesan said on Monday that so far, police have received information about seven people stranded in Sudan from various districts including two people from Haridwar and one from Dehradun. He said that the police officers concerned are forwarding their information to the authorities concerned at the State and Central levels. He said that anybody who has a family member stranded in Sudan can contact police stations in-charges in their respective police stations or just dial toll free number 112 to provide the details to authorities. He said that any citizen can approach any police officials in this matter and the police will collect the necessary details and act accordingly.
A 64-year-old man Nandkishore, a local of Dehradun is also stranded in Sudan. According to his family members here, he went to work there in a chemical factory a few months ago where he has been spending days along with other workers since the war got intense in the area. According to them, they talked to him a few days ago when he informed them that though he is safe, they have started facing a shortage of food and drinking water as water available in the factory is not drinkable. On Monday the family members met the district magistrate Sonika regarding the issue, who directed them to the police officials concerned to take action accordingly.
