Having arrested two of the accused in the Reliance Jewels showroom heist from Bihar on Wednesday, the police have announced a reward of Rs two lakh each on two absconding robbers involved in the robbery committed in Dehradun on November 9. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that the police have identified two absconding accused as Prince Kumar and Vikram Kushwaha, both residents of the same village in Bihar’s Vaishali district. Police cases are registered against both accused under various acts in police stations of Maharashtra and Bihar. The police on Thursday released their photographs and announced a reward of Rs two lakh each on both robbers. He said that the police are working day and night to arrest all robbers. He said that the police have already arrested two gang members from Bihar who were reportedly involved in the planning of the robbery and are being interrogated there. They will be soon brought to Dehradun after completion of the required legal procedure in Bihar. The SSP said that it has been revealed as per the investigation so far that the gang involved in the robbery either used stolen vehicles or bought them from OLX using fake IDs. Besides this, the gang members used to communicate with one another regarding the robbery using fake SIMs purchased on fake IDs of West Bengal and Bihar. The robbers used to destroy these SIMs after committing the crime. They have also allegedly used portable signal jammers in most of their robberies to make it difficult for anybody to call the authorities. He said that Dehradun police received information about the gang’s secret hideout in Bihar’s Vaishali district. Singh claimed that the robbery in Dehradun was also planned there. He said that robbers had allegedly gathered at this hideout before leaving for Uttarakhand to commit the robbery. He said that as per the investigation, the robbers used to meet again in the same hideout place after the robbery to plan the strategy. He said that the police raided the place on Wednesday and gathered crucial evidence against the accused from the site. He said that it was revealed that the gang leader used to get the money transferred from inside the jail to the robbers to fund robbery and other felonies. Some robbers also allegedly bought clothes from a clothing store in Najibabad and the police are investigating there too. He said that police teams are consistently conducting raids at various locations in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh to gather maximum evidence against the robbers.
