The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Dehradun Daleep Singh Kunwar said that police will identify anarchist elements from outside who escalated the protest and created nuisance on Thursday in the name of protesting with unemployed youths. He said that some unwanted and outsider elements created ruckus during the protest, causing inconvenience to the public and officials while also violating various rules. The police have videos of the incidents and all such elements will be identified and strict action as per the law will be taken against them.
The SSP further informed that stone pelting on the police by protesters injured a total 15 police personnel and some district administration officials besides damaging many vehicles of police, fire services and vehicles of other associated departments. The SSP said, “The police had to use light force to control such unwanted elements that were causing nuisance in the city. All such people will soon be identified by us.”
