The police raided a number of spa centres in the Muni Ki Reti area and imposed a penalty of about Rs 1,20,000 after discovering various irregularities in these centres. The action was undertaken on Monday on the directions of the Tehri senior superintendent of police.
According to the police, Rs 1,20,000 challan was imposed under the Police Act on 12 spa centres for various irregularities. The operators of these centres were also directed to operate the centres as per the regulations. The Muni Ki Reti inspector in-charge Ritesh Shah informed that five police teams raided 40 spa centres in the Tapovan area action on complaints being received for some time.
The police imposed challan on 12 spa centres for violation of various rules and not following the governmental guidelines. The police will take further action including sealing of the centre in case violations are found again in the future, he added.
