Police issue traffic plan in view of rallies to be held today

The police have issued a traffic plan in view of the Mool Niwas Swabhiman Maharally and Yuva Padyatra slated to be held in Dehradun today. While the Mool Niwas Swabhiman Maharally will be held from the Parade Ground to the statehood martyrs memorial between 10 AM and 11 AM, the Yuva Padyatra will be held between 11 AM and 1 PM from the Pavillion Ground to the Survey of India ground in Hathibadkala. For the Mool Niwas Swabhiman Maharally, parking arrangements have been made at the Mangala Devi inter college and Lord Venkateshwara wedding point.
The parking arrangements for the Yuva Padyatra have been made at the Rangers Ground, Srinivas wedding point and Survey of India ground at Hathibadkala. According to the police the traffic on Rajpur Road, Chakrata Road and Gandhi Road may be diverted to alternative routes considering the traffic load. Further, the Vikrams and Tata Magics on the Raipur route will be turned back from Sahastradhara crossing, Vikrams/Tata Magics on the Dharampur route will be sent back from Race Course Chowk and the Vikrams/Tata Magics on ISBT route and Kanwali route will be sent back from the railway station gate.
Similarly, these public transport vehicles on the Premnagar route will be sent back from the Bindal trijunction while on the Rajpur route they will be sent back from the secretariat cut on Rajpur Road. The city buses plying from ISBT to Rajpur Road will be diverted from Darshanlal Chowk towards Clock Tower, those coming from Rispana bridge will be sent back from Tehsil Chowk towards Araghar while those coming from Raipur Road will be sent to Clock Tower via Sahastradhara Road, IT Park and Rajpur Road.
The police have appealed to the citizens of the city to use alternative routes and cooperate with the police to maintain the traffic system. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh has directed all police officers to ensure that those appearing for the exam on Sunday do not face any inconvenience. The police have been told to provide all possible assistance to the examinees in reaching their examination centre after seeing their entrance cards.Examinees who face any problem in reaching their destination can call 112 for assistance.
