Police nab driver for accident in Paithani that killed four young men

The police have arrested the driver of the Max jeep that allegedly fell into a gorge on March 17 at Paithani in Pauri district killing four young men who were returning to their homes after celebrating Holi. The police said that Sher Singh, father of one of the deceased named Rohit Singh, who is a Chamoli resident, filed a complaint against the man Gajraj Panwar in Paithani who was driving the vehicle that day. The police registered a case against the driver under the relevant sections of the Indian panel code (IPC) on Thursday and nabbed the driver on Friday. The police are interrogating the matter. It is pertinent to mention here that a Max jeep carrying 14 passengers fell into a gorge on Thursday, a day before Holi, in Pauri in which four persons- Santosh Singh (22), Balwant Singh (21), Rohit Singh (19) and Amit Negi (16) lost their lives and 10 sustained injuries.
