Police raid illegal house party in Doon, act against 57 men and women

The police raided a private residence in the Gajiyawala area of Dehradun that was reportedly hosting a secret party for scores of young men and women in the wee hours of Sunday. The police conducted the raid after
acting on confidential information received by Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh. He informed that the operation was conducted by a team comprising officers from multiple police stations in the city, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and officials from the Excise department. During the raid, 40 men and 17 women were caught participating in the illegal house party. He informed that the party had been discreetly advertised through WhatsApp to maintain secrecy. Upon inspection, the police discovered a large quantity of imported liquor, including both full bottles and empty ones, which were being used during the party. Singh said that the residence, owned by Rajni, was identified as the location of the party. Legal proceedings under the Excise Act have been initiated against her. Besides this, all individuals present at the party were questioned and appropriate action is being taken against them under the Police Act. Singh said that the police are committed to curb illegal activities and in ensuring strict enforcement of laws related to the use and distribution of alcohol in Dehradun.
