Police set up 22 checkpoints for New Year security

Dehradun Police have made security arrangements for New Year celebrations. To prevent hooliganism and maintain law and order, the police have set up 22 checkpoints at important places across the city. Police teams will be on duty on main roads, markets, tourist spots, hotels, bars and party venues. The police have clearly said that people can celebrate the New Year, but any kind of indiscipline or disturbance will not be allowed.
Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that special security arrangements have been made in view of the New Year. He said that all aspects related to security, traffic and parking have already been identified. Police are fully prepared to manage the arrival of tourists and welcome travellers coming to the city. He added that strict action will be taken against anyone found creating trouble or engaging in hooliganism.
Superintendent of police (Traffic) Lokjeet Singh said that every year, a large number of tourists visit Dehradun and Mussoorie from Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and other States to celebrate the New Year. To avoid traffic congestion, special traffic routes have been planned. Plan A and plan B have been prepared according to the situation. Parking points have been identified in Dehradun and Mussoorie, and diversion routes have also been marked.
Police will take strict action against drunk driving, loud music, fighting, and traffic rule violations. Special checking drives will be conducted throughout the night. Social media platforms will also be monitored, and action will be taken against those who upload videos of illegal activities. Police have held meetings with hotel and bar owners and instructed them to strictly follow all safety rules.
