In latest news from Uttarakhand, the anti-human trafficking cell of Nainital Police conducted unannounced inspection of several spa/ massage centres in the Kathgodam area of Haldwani and collected Rs 40,000 from some of them as penalty. Police said that when the registers were checked no details were found of the customers’ identity. Besides, employees’ police verification had not been done. As these constitute irregularities the errant spa/ massage centres were made to pay fine.
