The police are yet to find any connection between the man and woman found dead in the Vasant Vihar area on Sunday morning. The post mortem report of both the deceased revealed that they died due to internal injuries, which is possible after getting hit by a heavy object and the police suspect it to be a hit and run case, said the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh. He said that so far, the only connection police have found is that both the deceased Sandeep Mohan Dhasmana (40) and Hemlata (37) belong to two different localities- Ambiwala and Pitambarpur- of the same ward. The police teams formed to investigate the case have analysed CCTV footage of cameras installed in the nearby area and the call records of the deceased. The police also found no common factor between the deceased via call records. According to the CCTV footage, Hemlata, who worked as a house help, had left home for work at 5:18 AM on Sunday as per her daily routine. In the footage, Dhasmana, who used to go out for morning walks, can be seen leaving his house at 4:48 AM. In the CCTV, both can be seen going towards Parwal Road from Pitambarpur Road and Ambiwala, said the SSP. He said their investigation also revealed that the incident occurred before 5:50 AM. The post mortem of both was done by a panel of doctors and according to their official statements, both of them died due to internal injuries, which could have been caused by getting hit by a heavy object with a significant surface area. It is also considered one of the plausible causes because the man’s liver was severely damaged and his stomach was full of blood. At the same time, the woman had internal injuries and a severe head injury which were the main cause of their death. The doctors found no serious external injury on their body. According to them, both possibly died instantly from the injuries, said Singh. The relatives of both the deceased have also not expressed any suspicion or any enmity with anyone who could hurt or kill them. He said that as per the investigation so far, it appears that both deceased possibly died after a vehicle hit them. The police are searching for that unknown vehicle.
