Police to maintain law and order in Jhanda Mela via CCTVs and drones

The police will maintain security, law and order in the Jhanda Mela area via drones and CCTV cameras, Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said. He conducted an inspection of the Jhanda Ji Mela site on Wednesday to review security arrangements ahead of the event. With a large influx of devotees expected from various states and districts for the auspicious occasion of Jhanda Ji’s hoisting, the SSP directed officials to ensure comprehensive security measures.
He informed that to maintain strict surveillance, CCTV cameras and drones have been deployed across the Mela grounds. Police teams in plain clothes have also been stationed to keep a close watch on any suspicious or disruptive elements.
Besides this, security personnel have been positioned on rooftops around the Mela area to enhance monitoring and prevent any untoward incidents. He informed that to further strengthen the security apparatus, Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been deployed to handle any emergency situations swiftly. The SSP directed the officials concerned that all necessary arrangements should be in place to ensure the safety and well-being of devotees attending the grand event.
