Police visit elderly to check well-being, provide assistance

Dehradun police carried out a special outreach programme as part of which its personnel visited senior citizens in both urban and rural areas to check on their well-being and provide assistance wherever needed, on Sunday. The initiative was taken on the instructions of the Dehradun senior superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajai Singh.
During the visits, police personnel met the elderly, asked about their health and noted any problems or concerns they had. They also provided mobile numbers of the Cheetah Police and senior officers so that help could be easily accessed at any time.
Police officers also made the senior citizens aware of ongoing cyber crimes and guided them on ways to protect themselves from such frauds. The initiative was aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the elderly, especially those living alone.
The senior citizens appreciated the efforts of the police and expressed their gratitude, officials averred.
