The protest being undertaken by the Congress against its president Sonia Gandhi being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is a political drama. Stating this, the Bharatiya Janata Party State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the protest being staged by Congress leaders is an unsuccessful attempt to pressurise the investigating agencies and distract the attention of the public.
Chauhan said, “It is unfortunate that at a time when the nation is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the top leader of the oldest political party of the country which claims to have brought independence to India, is facing corruption charges, out on bail and appearing before the investigating agency. What is more unfortunate is that the Congress party and its leaders are shamelessly staging protest demonstrations in an attempt to put pressure on the investigating agency,” he said. The BJP State media in-charge also questioned why they are afraid of facing the investigation if Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have done nothing wrong in the National Herald case. He said that it would have been better if the Congress leaders played a constructive role in public interest instead of undertaking protests to distract the focus of the public away from the scams of its top leaders. The central agencies are not going to be pressurised by such political drama and eventually the truth behind the scam will come out. It will be revealed how the property of a national newspaper started with the financial assistance of freedom fighters was usurped by the top leaders of the Congress, said Chauhan. “The BJP and the people know that the sole purpose behind the protests by the Congress is to protract the investigation process and distract the focus of the public because the Congress leaders are themselves aware of the corruption,” added the BJP State media in-charge.
