Polling brisk at all Vanbhoolpura booths

In latest news from Uttarakhand, though the voter turnout of the State this time showed a significant dip of around six per cent as compared to 2019 election, Vanbhoolpura, which saw widespread communal violence in February that resulted in several casualties, presented a contrasting picture. The voters, particularly the women and young voters, headed out to booths to cast vote. As per the election officials, 49 polling booths were set up for 43,785 voters and all the booths recorded brisk polling.
Asked what they thought the next government should prioritise, they said the spiking inflation must be controlled and employment opportunities must be created for the unemployed. Besides, they stressed on better educational opportunities for the children.
At all the booths, people were found standing patiently in queues, waiting for their turn to cast vote.
