Poor health services- Cong holds protest

In protest against the inapt handling of the pandemic of Covid-19 and poor health services in the state, the Uttarakhand unit of Congress party organised a symbolic fast at Rajiv Bhawan on Monday.
The protest was attended by general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and former chief minister Harish Rawat and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh among others. Speaking on the occasion, Pritam Singh said that the state government has declared Black Fungus as epidemic but has made no work plan to deal with it. He said that the BJP government is making tall claims about the vaccination drive but the truth is that in absence of vaccines people are being turned away from vaccine centres.
Former CM Rawat said that one can understand the condition of health services in the rural areas of Uttarakhand from the fact that people are unable to get treatment in cities. The Vice President of Uttarakhand Congress Aryendra Sharma, Godavari Thapli, Lal Chand Sharma, former MLA Rajkumar and others participated in the symbolic fast.
