Portals of Badrinath Dham reopen for devotees

The portals of Lord Shri Badrinath Temple have opened for the devotees at 7:10 am amidst Vedic chanting and rituals. The first puja was performed in the name of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Thousands of devotees witnessed the ceremony. The process of opening the doors started from 4 am. The doors of the temple were opened in the presence of administration officials and thousands of devotees by Dharmadhikari, Hakhakudhari and members of Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee, including the chief priest of the temple Rawal. The shrine was decorated with 15 quintals of flowers for this occasion.
Amidst light snowfall and rain, the pilgrims were showered with flowers from helicopters. With the opening of the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, the Chardham Yatra has started in Uttarakhand.
