The Char Dham Yatra would commence at full throttle on Thursday with the opening of the portals of Badrinath shrine. The gates of the temple of Lord Badrinath would be opened for the pilgrims at 7.10 am on Thursday.
The palanquins carrying the idols of Lord Udhav, Kuber and Adi Guru Shankaracharya have reached Badrinath shrine from Pandukeshwar. Thousands of pilgrims are expected to witness the occasion of the opening of the portals of Badrinath temple. Excitement is palpable among the pilgrims who have reached Badrinath shrine.
The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has decorated the temple with flowers. About 25 quintals of fresh flowers have been used in the temple decoration. The preparations for opening of the portals would be done from 4.30 am and at 5.30 am Lord Kuber will arrive from Bamani village to temple premises.
A special prayer would be performed at the main gate of the temple by Rawal and Dharmacharya at 5.30. Prayers would be performed at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple at 6 am with the arrival of Rawal inside the temple and the portals of the temple would be opened for the pilgrims at 7.10 am.
