Saturday, 20 May 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN
The portals of the Rudranath Temple have been thrown open for the devotees at 6.10 am amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. It is believed that one can see the face of Lord Shiva only in this temple known as the fourth Kedar. As per the shastras, Lord Shiva showed his face to the Pandavas when the latter were ascending to heaven and this is why this pilgrimage is considered very tough. The portals were opened in accordance with the long-prevailing religious customs. About 500 devotees were present during the portal-opening ceremony. This is located at an altitude of 11, 808 ft in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
