In latest news from Uttarakhand, the portals of the revered Rudranath temple, considered as one of the Panch Kedars, have been shut for the winter in accordance with the long-running traditional rituals. It is learnt that the doli with the deity has started its journey for Gopinath temple, the winter abode of the Lord Rudranath. Before the portal-closure process started, the Chamoli chief development officer Lalit Narayan Mishra paid obeisance to the Lord at the Rudranath temple. As per the tradition, the date of the closure of the Badrinath shrine portals will be announced on October 24 while the portals of Gangotri shrine would be closed for the winter on November 14 and those of Kedarnath shrine and Yamunotri shrine would be closed for winter on November 15.
