Positive thinking key to happiness in life : Prof. Annpurna Nautiyal

HNB Garhwal University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Annpurna Nautiyal has laid emphasis on the importance of Positive Thinking and Discipline, terming them as the foundation of happiness in life.

Prof Nautiyal was addressing the inaugural session of a seven days short term training programme on “Various Dimensions of Happiness and Holistic Health” organized by the Faculty Development Centre under Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission for Teachers and Teaching  at HNB Garhwal Central University. She said that an individual happy from inside, will see happiness everywhere and if the happiness is real it will be automatically reflected in the surroundings as well. She said only a happy teacher can contribute to the educational institutions and national development by imparting the appropriate education.

The key-note speaker Prof. Tushar Kant Mishra, the Founder Director of School of Happiness and Centre for Ethics and Value, at Ramanujan College, University of Delhi, Delhi, explained in detail the four pillars of Happiness – Heartfulness, Mindfulness, Healthiness and Righteousness. Prof. Mishra made it clear that a positive attitude at heart, alert mind, sound health   and righteous activities are must for being happy and creating happiness.

Earlier, Prof. Indoo Pandey Khanduri, the Director of the Faculty Development Centre welcomed the chief guest, key-note speaker and other participants and presented the theme of the Short-Term Training Programme. She said that the training program on Happiness and Holistic Health is of vital importance nowadays. She stated that the higher education faculty members from seventeen educational institutions of five states- Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are participating in this training program.

Dr. Rahul Kunwar Singh, the Assistant Director, Faculty Development Centre coordinated the inaugural ceremony whereas Dr. Somesh Thapliyal presented the vote of thanks.
