The poster campaign of Congress party in which it has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for vaccine scarcity has reached Uttarakhand. On Tuesday the posters with the question ‘ Modiji why the vaccines of our children were sent abroad ?’ sprang up near the Rajiv Bhawan on Rajpur road in Dehradun. The posters bore the names of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh and Mahanagar President Lal Chand Sharma.
The Congress workers also held a protest and burned the effigy of the Government on the day. Sharma said that PM Modi has played with the lives of millions of Indians by sending vaccines outside the country. He said that as part of the vaccine diplomacy six Crore doses of vaccine were sent to other countries. “The whole exercise was done to polish the image of Modi. These doses would have saved many precious lives in our country,’’ he said.
The Mahanagar President said that those who have placed the posters are not afraid to get arrested. He also criticised the state government for poor handling of the pandemic. Sharma demanded that more and more testing centres should be opened and the test reports should be made available in 24 hours. He also demanded that the vaccination should start immediately in the state. The protest was attended by former MLA Rajkumar, district president Himanshu Bijalwan and others.
