Pradeep’s midnight run makes the aspiring soldier famous overnight

A young lad from Uttarakhand has become popular overnight after a clip of him running on a road in Noida was shared on social media. The video of 19-year-old Pradeep Mehra has garnered several lakhs in hits and thousands of likes after filmmaker Vinod Kapri posted a video of him running at midnight with a backpack on a road in Noida.

“This is pure gold. Last night at 12 o’clock on the road of Noida, I saw this boy running very fast with a bag on his shoulder. I thought he could be in trouble so I should offer him a lift. I repeatedly offered him a lift but he declined. You will fall in love with this child if you get to know the reason,” said Kapri in a tweet while posting the video of his encounter with Pradeep Mehra.

Hailing from Uttarakhand’s Almora district, Mehra who is living in Noida with his elder brother was spotted running on the road in Noida at midnight by Kapri. When the filmmaker asked him if he could drop him home, the boy politely refused his offer. On being asked for the reason for him running, Mehra said that he was preparing to join the army.

While jogging, Mehra said that he runs 10 kilometres from the fast food outlet he works in. From his workplace in sector 16 of Noida he runs to his home in Barola, and cooks dinner afterwards for himself and his brother. The polite responses and the spirit exhibited by the young man have elicited lakhs of hits and likes on social media. Apart from this, many prominent personalities from Union ministers, politicians, industrialists and others along with the general public have appreciated the spirit, determination and hard work of the young Uttarakhandi.
