Pran Pratishtha celebrated with gusto in temples and Gurudwaras

Various programmes were organised in temples in Dehradun to celebrate the Pran Pratishtha at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on Monday. The temples in Dehradun were decked up in lights, balloons and decorations to celebrate the occasion. Many temple priests opined that the day is a true blessing and participated in devotional activities along with numerous devotees in different areas.
The priest of a temple in Paltan Bazaar, Vishnu Dimri said that that the temple committee strongly believes in celebrating the occasion with great fervour to leave a lasting impression on people’s minds for years to come. A Sundarkand Path and recitation of the Bhagwad Geeta was organised in the temple on the occasion. Additionally, they have also conducted a Kalash Yatra accompanied by singing of Bhajans and distribution of Prasad.
“This occasion is very significant in the Hindu religion. The temple has been adorned with orange balloons and flags that bear the name of Lord Ram. Additionally, a Bhajan programme has been organised with devotees having been requested to dress in orange attire,” said Prayag Bhauguna, the priest of a temple in Patelnagar. He further added that the preparation for the occasion started a week ago. Enhancing the celebratory atmosphere, a new idol of Ram was installed at the temple on Monday.
Another priest Jagmohan Rawat said that a religious tableaux procession was organised by the temple located at Rest Camp. During the event, children dressed up as Lord Ram Sita and Lakshman, and they sang Bhajans while taking a full round of the aforementioned area. The temple committee also distributed Prasad to the public.
The enthusiasm was not limited to temples as the occasion was also commemorated in Gurudwaras. Commenting on the celebration a Gurudwara head Gagan Singh said that the celebration is not limited to any particular religion, but open to everyone residing in the nation. To commemorate the occasion, the Gurudwara committee offered prayers for the success of all and distributed Prasad outside the Gurudwara to make the consecration of the Ram temple memorable. He further said that the Gurudwara was also decorated with lights and balloons on the occasion.
