The Uttarakhand cluster head of Prasar Bharati, Ashok Kumar lodged an FIR in Dehradun against an Akashvani employee. The FIR addresses the issue of illegal occupation in the Akashvani colony in Uttarkashi which houses officials and employees.
Kumar informed that the Akashvani centre in Uttarkashi, established by the Government of India for information, education, and entertainment, has been encroached upon by an employee named Madan Lal. He claimed that Lal has illegally occupied an additional house besides his allocated one and engaged in unauthorised construction and cattle rearing at the site.
Following these actions, Prasar Bharati cancelled Lal’s allotment and discovered later that he had forged signatures and misused office stamps to obtain a false No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a water connection. Considering this, Kumar filed an FIR against him in Nehru Colony police station. He said that the Uttarkashi district magistrate Meharban Singh Bisht has also been informed about the issue and has assured to give full support in removing the encroachment. Kumar said that the authorities have assured him of taking strict action in the matter.
