Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammelan eliciting good response

The upcoming first international Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammelan is eliciting good response among the non resident Uttarakhandis. More than 50 non resident Uttarakhandis have so far registered for the event. The one day conclave will be held in Dehradun on January 12. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the conclave. Panel discussion on investment opportunities in Uttarakhand, hospitality and wellness, skill development, employment opportunities in foreign countries, higher education and potential of herbs in the State will be held in the four sessions in the conclave.  

 The organisers of the conclave informed that many non-resident Uttarakhandis who have earned a reputation in the countries they are residing will attend the conclave. Girish Chandra Pant from Dubai, Dev Raturi from China, Anita Sharma from USA, Bhuwan Tiwari from Japan, Sunil Thapliyal from Singapore and Dr S K Kala from Thailand will attend the conclave. Many of the attendees will also participate in the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas being organised at Bhubaneswar by the government of India.

Chief Minister Dhami had visited many countries to promote the International Investment Summit which was held in December 2013. In his visit to the foreign countries he was accorded a warm welcome by the non resident Uttarakhandis.  To take the benefit of the experiences of non resident Uttarakhandis the CM had directed the officers to set to a special cell for them. He also asked the authorities to organise a conclave of non resident Uttarakhandis in Dehradun.

Expressing happiness at the good response generated by the conclave CM Dhami said that non resident Uttarakhandis have expertise in the fields of science technology and entrepreneurship. The State government wants that they should utilise their experience for the development of the State and their villages, he said.
