PRD jawan burnt in forest fire dies, death toll climbs to six

Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) jawan Kundan Singh who had sustained burn injuries while tackling a forest fire in Binsar wildlife sanctuary on June 13 succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on Sunday. With this, the number of fatalities in the incident has risen to six. 

According to official sources, the PRD jawan lost his life at about 3 AM on Sunday after being under treatment for 17 days. Two others injured in the forest fire are undergoing treatment at AIIMS.

It will be recalled that eight forest workers and PRD personnel were caught in the forest fire in Binsar wildlife sanctuary in Almora district on June 13. Four forest workers were burnt alive after getting trapped in the fire. Another employee died during treatment.
