Preparations made for smooth Kartik Purnima Snan

The Haridwar police and district administration have made elaborate arrangements for security and to deal with the traffic during the Kartik Purnima Snan here on Tuesday. The fair area is divided into nine zones and 33 sectors. Senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh briefed the police personnel about their tasks on the day.
In the briefing at the traffic police line in Bhupatwala on Monday, the SSP said that all the devotees who come to take a bath on Kartik Purnima should be treated well. The policemen should not move away from the duty point at all. Singh said that during the Snan, a separate zone has been created at the proposed site of Bharat Scouts and Guides office in view of the Gyan Godadi issue. In view of this, police personnel have been deployed in plain clothes to coordinate and keep an eye on the people of the Sikh community. Instructions have been given for frequent checking to prevent any untoward incident.
The SSP said that two teams of bomb disposal squad have been deployed while the mounted police will be deployed for crowd control. Twenty officers and employees of LIU will be posted. To prevent drowning of visitors, water police personnel and divers will be deployed in the area. Superintendent of police (Rural) Swapna Kishore Singh, SP (City) Swatantra Kumar Singh, ASP Rekha Yadav and others were also present in the briefing.
