Preparations on full swing for budget session at Gairsain
Will be longest session in Gairsain so far
The secretariat of Uttarakhand assembly is gearing itself to hold the upcoming budget session of Uttarakhand assembly at Gairsain, the summer capital of Uttarakhand.
For preparations the secretariat has deployed 30 employees permanently in Gairsain while duties of others are being done on a rotational basis. The state government has proposed to hold the budget session at Gairsain from March 1 to 9 which means that the session would be of the longest duration from among the sessions held so far in Gairsain.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat would present the budget on March 4 which incidentally would be the last budget of this government.
The speaker Prem Chand Agarwal said that most of the preparations for the budget session have been completed and said that the session would be historic in many senses. He said that the challenge of Covid-19 pandemic is still there and all the protocols would be followed during the session. He said that the aspirations of all the MLAs from the budget session are always high.
Meanwhile in view of the upcoming budget session, the assembly secretariat has taken the permission to take the questions from the MLAs five days before the stipulated time. As per the provisions, the questions can be taken only after completion of one month after prorogation of the session. The Governor had prorogued the winter session of assembly on January 8 which means that the assembly secretariat can take questions after February 8. In view of this the assembly secretariat has taken special permission to receive the questions five days before the stipulated time. The secretary of the assembly Mukesh Singhal told The Pioneer that the speaker has given this permission and the questions could be sent from February 3 onwards.
