Prepare plan to make U’khand Ayush & wellness destination: CM

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that an effective work plan should be prepared for making Uttarakhand a leading destination of Ayush and wellness. The CM chaired a meeting of the Ayush and Ayush education department at the state secretariat on Friday. He directed the officers to bring a new Yoga policy to make the State the best Yoga destination in the world. The CM said that special efforts should be made to encourage Panchkarma in the State. He also stressed on encouraging production of herbs in the state and suggested that the Ayush department should coordinate with the horticulture and forest departments in this endeavour.

He said that Ayush hospitals should be set up with the help of private players. The CM said that a proper platform should be prepared for marketing of herbs and herbal products. Dhami said that steps for effective implementation of the Ayush policy should be taken.

 The officers informed the CM that a new Ayush policy has been implemented in the state and under it provisions for wellness, health, Ayush production, Ayush education, research and plantation of medicinal plants has been made. The policy focuses on production of high quality herbs, compulsion of following the international norms of good agriculture practices (GAP), use of drone based latest technology, setting up of cold storages under PPP mode, bringing the buyers and sellers of herbal products on one online platform and assured buy back scheme of medical products.

 In the policy, the MSME policy and mega industrial and investment policy are applicable for the Ayush manufacturing units and many incentives are provided to the entrepreneurs in the sector.

 The meeting was attended by deputy chairperson of infrastructure development monitoring committee, Vishwas Dawar, additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Ayush secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey and others.
