President Droupadi Murmu would be the chief guest in the third convocation ceremony of Doon University to be held on December 9. The vice chancellor of the Doon University Surekha Dangwal said that the convocation ceremony would be based on the subject ‘emerging women power’ which also symbolises the increasing self-reliance of the women in society. She said that the address of the President would inspire the students and the teachers. The VC said that the visit of the President would encourage the girls coming from remote rural backgrounds and it would inculcate self confidence in them to create a special place for themselves in the country and world.
In the convocation the graduate, post graduate and PhD students who passed in the year 2021 from the school of management, school of languages, school of environment and natural resources, school of social sciences, school of physical sciences, school of design, school of media and communication studies and Dr Nityanand Himalayan Research and Study centre will be awarded degrees. In the ceremony the President will also award gold medals to 36 students.
