Prez, PM Modi, Shah & others express sorrow on death of tourists

President Droupadi Murmu condoled the loss of lives in the accident in Rudraprayag and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the accident and termed it “heartbreaking”. In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office said, “The road accident in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand is heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones. Along with this, I wish speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is engaged in providing all possible help to the victims.”
The Union Home minister Amit Shah, Uttarakhand governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other prominent personalities have expressed sorrow over the death of pilgrims in an accident in Rudraprayag district on Saturday.
Shah took to X to express his condolences. He said that his empathy is with the family members of those who lost their lives in the accident. He said that local administration and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel are engaged in relief and rescue operations. Shah wished speedy recovery to the injured in the accident.
In his message, the Uttarakhand governor expressed grief at the death of the pilgrims and prayed to god for the peace to the souls of the deceased.
Expressing deep sorrow and anguish on the deaths in the accident, CM Dhami said that the injured were immediately taken to the nearest health centre. The critically injured were airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. In his message Dhami prayed to god for peace to the soul of the dead and wished for speedy recovery of the injured in the accident.
The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara also expressed sorrow on the death of the tourists. He said that the accidents are occurring at an alarming pace but the government is learning no lessons from them. He said that the government should ensure proper treatment to the injured in the accident. The officers of the police and revenue departments should be asked to ensure that over speeding of vehicles is prevented.
