Primary teacher training held in Chakrata

The ten-day training programme, held at Saraswati Shishu Mandir under the Ekal Shiksha Abhiyan’s primary teacher training initiative, concluded at Makhti Pokhri, Chakrata. The chairperson of Sunrise Academy and director of Sparsh Himalaya Foundation, Vidushi Nishank appreciated the Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad’s work in providing education to women in remote rural areas across the country. She emphasised the importance of preserving India’s Sanatan culture and integration of scientific consciousness along with traditional values. Addressing the programme, the public relations manager at Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Amit Pokhriyal, elaborated on his organisation’s activities and highlighted the significance of science-based thinking in society.
This ten-day training session saw the participation of 30 women teachers from Chakrata, Sahiya and Koti Kanasar. Under this initiative, an educated woman from each village is appointed to run these centres, providing children with moral values along with intellectual and physical education.
The Ekal Abhiyan in-charge, Kundan Singh Chauhan stated that the campaign focuses on providing basic education, physical training and intellectual development to children whose parents are unable to afford formal schooling.
