Orders strengthening of police help desk & helpline number 112
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that concerted efforts for women empowerment and safety should be made in Uttarakhand in such a manner that a message from the State is conveyed to the whole country. He directed the officers that special focus on women safety and their empowerment should be made in the State. Dhami gave these directions while chairing a meeting on safety and empowerment of the women workers at the State secretariat on Friday.
He said that all the departments should work in a coordinated manner to ensure that the women get associated with employment and self employment projects in large numbers. The CM said that a solid working plan should be made at the level of departments for the safety of the women workers. He said that the police help desk and the helpline number 112 should be strengthened. The CM said that as per the rules the women are entitled for the maternity leave and it should be ensured that every working woman gets this benefit. He directed that a help desk for women should be made in all the institutes and a system of registration of working women in an area should be made and for this the police, labour and the department concerned should come together.
Dhami said that regular meetings of the committee set up to prevent sexual harassment of women at work place should be held and everyone should know about the Sexual Harassment Electronic (SHE) box in the work places. Exhorting all the departments of the government to work like a team, the CM said that the departments should concentrate on improving their work culture. He added that effective efforts are needed to prevent child labour in the State.
In the meeting the deputy inspector general of police Senthil Abudai Krishnraj S gave a presentation of the proposed one stop solution app. The working women in the organised and unorganised sectors would be able to get their registrations done in the app at the time of their appointment. He said that the women employees working in industries and factories and their employers would be encouraged to get the registration of female workers in the one stop solution app.
The meeting was attended by additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, director general of police Ashok Kumar, ADG law and order V Murugeshan, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, H C Semwal, Deependra Chaudhary, IG Vimala Gunjyal and others.
