Priority to be given to Agniveer in Govt jobs, says CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Assembly speaker Ritu Khanduri started the recruitment process in the army under the Agnipath scheme in Uttarakhand at Kotdwar on Wednesday. A programme was organised on the occasion during which the recruitment rally of the army was started by lighting a torch by the CM and Assembly speaker Ritu Khanduri.
Speaking on the occasion, CM said that the Agnipath scheme would provide dedicated youngsters to the armed forces of the country from Uttarakhand which is also known as the Veer Bhoomi. He said that the scheme would also prove very useful for the youngsters of the state. The CM announced that the Agniveers would be given priority in recruitment in government jobs in Uttarakhand. He said that the priority to the Agniveers would be while doing recruitment in police, fire services, disaster management and Char Dham Yatra management and soon the State government would release rules and regulations for this.
Dhami said that the State government is committed for all round development of the youth and provide employment opportunities to them. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought the Agnipath scheme in the interest of the nation. He said that 10 lakhs of youth will get employment under the Agnipath scheme. The CM said that though some people opposed the scheme but large number of people including ex-servicemen have come out in its support. He said that more than 60,000 youth have registered themselves for the requirement under the scheme.
Observing the enthusiasm of the participants of the recruitment rally the CM asked candidates to give their best performance.
The CM also inaugurated a Modi Rasoi for providing free food to the aspiring Agniveers during the rally. He also made many declarations and announced development projects for Kotdwar.
The Vidhan Sabha speaker, Ritu Khanduri said that the youth in countries such as USA, UK, Russia, Israel, China and France are serving their countries by schemes like Agnipath. The cabinet ministers Ganesh Joshi, Rekha Arya and others were also present on the occasion.
The relatives of the martyrs were also felicitated in the programme by CM Dhami.
