The Chakrata MLA and senior State Congress leader Pritam Singh trained his gun on the politician-activist Bobby Panwar, who had recently courted controversy following threat allegedly given by him to the State’s Power department secretary Meenakshi Sundaram, and said that the State government should constitute a probe to know why he had been so fiercely critical of UPCL chairman S S Yadav’s service extension with extension having been given to a host of senior officers, including the chief secretary.
Observing that extension given to anyone in the government service was wrong in view of the spiralling unemployment among the youth, Singh said that the motive behind Panwar remaining so stubborn on Yadav’s dismissal demand should be investigated to learn whether he had any axe to grind. According to Singh, a non-technical UPCL officer had been trying to become the MD replacing Yadav. “This angle needs to be probed. It is intriguing why Panwar is singling out an officer,” the Congress leader said.
