Probe against four police personnel starts in Bazpur on court order

Police have filed a case and started investigation into the complaint against the four police personnel, including inspector of Bazpur police station, that they had filed a case against the complainant who had complained against illegal mining going on in the Bazpur police station limit. The police investigation has started on the order of the court.

It is learnt that the resident of Ramjivanpur village in Sultanpur patti Baburam lodged a complaint on June 2 2022, saying that illegal mining had been going on in Koshi river. However, police did not receive the complaint and instead put him in lockup. Police also allegedly threatened him with encounter. After this, Baburam reached court through a lawyer. The magisterial court then ordered filing of case against the accused police employees.

Meanwhile, the accused inspector in-charge said that the complainant was himself a mining mafia and he misbehaved with police, adding that a number of cases had been lodged against him in the police station in the past.
