The newly appointed Vice Chancellor (VC) of Doon University, Sunil Joshi has said that medicinal plants would be planted in the university. He said that these plants would be planted by clearing the shrubs and weeds in the university land.
After assuming charge, the VC inspected the premises on Thursday. He said that the university campus is very beautiful. He said that plantation of medicinal plants would benefit both the university and the state.
He opined the university should promote research on medicinal plants and enter into understandings with other universities in this regard. Joshi said that the employment opportunities would be created by such endeavours and the economy of the state would also get a boost. The Dean Student welfare, H C Purohit, financial controller D C Lohani and deputy registrar M S Mandarwal accompanied the VC.
