In latest news from Doon, a local property dealer, identified as Surendra Singh Rawat (52), was killed in Shastri Nagar area on Haridwar Road. The accident happened as a car speeding from the direction of Jogiwala had a head-on collision with the two-wheeler Rawat was riding on his way back home in late night hours. The collision was so powerful that Rawat was flung away at a distance and the car rammed into the boundary wall of a fuel pump with the wall crashing down on the front portion of the car. The people from nearby areas rushed to the spot and transported bleeding Rawat to a hospital where the doctors announced him brought dead. Police arrested the driver of the car identified as Sunil Negi who hails from Pauri. He was arrested while his car was impounded, police said.
