The residents of ATS Colony located in the IT Park area of the city staged a sit-in at the main gate of the gated colony on Saturday, demanding strict action against a builder who had been allegedly misbehaving with the colony residents for several years. They said that though an FIR was registered against him, no action has been taken so far.
One of the residents, Himshika, who works as a scientist at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), said that the builder had misbehaved with her in-laws a few days ago and even assaulted her husband. She alleged that her husband’s eardrum had been damaged while he was being beaten up by the builder. She also claimed that the builder had threatened to kill him and behaved badly with her as well.
The president of the ATS Society, Ajay Singh said that the builder has created an atmosphere of fear in the colony. “During Diwali, the builder even pointed a pistol at some children,” he added.
