ACS chairs meeting of drafting committee on proposed land law
Additional chief secretary Radha Raturi has directed all the district magistrates to soon provide information to the Revenue department regarding land for which permission was granted from their level for agriculture and horticulture during the past 10 years. She clarified that the government’s main aim behind the proposed land law is to protect the rights of the native residents and ensure justice to them. It is also intended at encouraging reliable investors to invest and generate employment opportunities in the State while also simplifying the investment process.
Chairing a meeting of the drafting committee related to the proposed land law, Raturi clarified to the DMs that the purpose behind the temporary stay on permission for land for agriculture and horticulture is to prevent misuse of land and to make the land law more logical and fair. This temporary stay is not aimed at discouraging industrial activities and investment, she stressed. The ACS directed all the district magistrates to dispel confusion and doubts among investors regarding this temporary provision. She further directed that the departments concerned must promptly ensure verification of the applicants for investment in the State. Checking the reliability of the investors and simplification of the investment procedure is important to ensure that maximum investors are encouraged to establish enterprises and generate employment in the State.
Director general of police Abhinav Kumar, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Vinay Shankar Pandey and Deepandra Kumar Choudhry were present in the meeting along with all DMs who attended the meeting virtually.
