Provide health & education facilities to Balika Niketan girls: Raturi

Chief secretary Radha Raturi instructed the officials concerned to ensure proper arrangements for education, health services and career counselling for all girls living in Balika Niketan and Sharanalaya. She said this during her meeting with the girls from Shishu Sadan, Balika Niketan and Sharanalaya on the occasion of National Girl Child Day here on Friday.
During the meeting, Raturi spoke in detail with each girl about their education, personal lives, and future plans, answering their questions and providing encouragement. One of the girls, class IX student Pooja, said that she wants to become a lawyer. In response, Raturi praised Pooja for her academic performance and directed the District Probation Officer (DPO) and the officials from Balika Niketan to provide her with the necessary guidance, counselling and information for pursuing a career in law.
Similarly, a class VII student from Balika Niketan, Priya Sharma shared her aspiration to become an army officer. Raturi ordered the DPO to arrange physical training and coaching for Priya with assistance from the Sainik Welfare department.
Further, Raturi emphasised the need for proper education, health services and career counselling for all girls residing in Balika Niketan and Sharanalaya. She informed the girls about the importance of focusing on quality education and skill development for a bright future, better career opportunities and economic empowerment. She said that better education is a key factor in the social empowerment of women and highlighted that the state government has implemented various schemes to promote both the economic and social empowerment of women.
