Provide relief from cold to affected families in Joshimath: CM
Dhami orders administration to arrange for heaters and bonfires in relief camps

Following the snowfall and resulting chill in the Joshimath area on Thursday night and Friday, and the warning of cold wave conditions, the State administration has decided to make necessary arrangements for the families affected by land subsidence in Joshimath. On Friday the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the administration that in view of the cold wave conditions arrangements of heaters and bonfires should be made in the relief camps where the affected families of Joshimath are staying. Chairing a review meeting of the relief works in Joshimath at the State secretariat on Friday, the CM said that an in-depth analysis of the money needed for rehabilitation and making other arrangements in Joshimath should be made. He said that regular coordination with the district magistrate of Chamoli should be made and every point suggested by the local people should be incorporated in making the assessment. Dhami directed the officers to prepare a comprehensive plan for linking the rehabilitated people with employment. He said that the officers should also ensure that the livelihood of the displaced people is not affected and for this a plan should be prepared. He said that every facility should be provided to the families where they shifted. Dhami said that the board examinations are scheduled soon so the administration should ensure that they do not face any problem in giving the examinations. The meeting was attended by the additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagauli, Ranjit Kumar Sinha and SN Pandey.
