The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika has directed the officials to provide shelter to stray cattle at the nearest cow sheds to protect them from the cold at night. Sonika said that winters are harsh for stray animals as well considering which, officials concerned must make preparations to provide them shelter in their respective areas. Some operators of cow shelters have also requested the DM to make temporary cow shelters across the district as per the need considering which, she asked Kapdi to make a proposal to send to the district administration for consideration.
She also directed him to conduct joint inspections of some cow shelters with departments concerned to make suitable arrangements of electricity and water and submit a report. She also asked Kapdi about the construction of Gau Sadans across the district. He informed the DM that the work of Gau Sadan is in progress in Chharba and Premnagar which will be completed by next month.
