Purola & nearby areas to be declared horticulture areas: CM Dhami

The State government will work to declare Purola and nearby areas as horticulture areas. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made this and other announcements after inaugurating the Bishu Mela at the Someshwar temple in Jakhol area of Uttarkashi on Friday.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Dhami said that as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Uttarakhand is working to achieve all-round development. Stating that the Char Dham Yatra had been affected due to Covid-19 pandemic in the past two years, he said that this year the pilgrimage is expected to be undertaken on a large scale, for which the government has made all the necessary arrangements. The government is aiming to ensure that the pilgrims from across India and abroad do not face any inconvenience while undertaking the Yatra this year. The CM further said that all the promises made to the public will be fulfilled by the government. He said that a draft of Uniform Civil Code will be prepared and that a committee will be formed soon for this purpose. Recalling that the government had promised to provide three cooking gas cylinders free of cost in a year to poor families, he said that this will also be implemented soon. He said that the government orders for increasing the amount of old age pension and making both the husband and wife beneficiaries of the pension had been issued. In addition to this, government orders had also been released for increased allowance of sanitation workers and facilitating free treatment of statehood activists in hospitals.
Dhami announced that Purola and nearby areas will be declared horticulture areas. The primary health centre in Mori block will be upgraded to community health centre. The Barfiya Lal Juwantha community health centre in Purola block will be upgraded to sub district hospital. He also announced other developmental measures for the region on the occasion.
Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal, BJP district head Ramesh Chauhan and others were also present along with a large number of members of the local community.
