In latest news from Uttarakhand, the vice-chancellor of Kumaun University Diwan Singh Rawat chaired a research advisory committee meeting to review the research works being done by professors and researchers in various projects and also to draw up future plans for the benefit of Uttarakhand. In the meeting, details of the progress of research works done in the last one year were presented by the director of research and development cell N G Sahu.
Addressing the meeting, Rawat said that the identity of a university is determined by the level of research and its results. “To raise the level of research in the university, we will have to work hard on the three P’s – products, patents and publications, keeping quality in mind in all of them,” he said and added that research proposals firmed by the academics should be sent to the funding agencies.
An important decision was taken at the meeting that 70 per cent of the amount required by the researcher can be provided in advance on the recommendation of the committee dealing with internal research funding in Kumaun University.
