In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Uttarkashi police department observed the 75th Republic Day in the Police Lines at Gyansu during which the personnel of the district police, traffic police, ITBP, Women Home Guard, NCC, fire service, SDRF, telecommunication and horticulture department among others participated under the supervision of the superintendent of police Arpan Yaduvanshi. The Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan hoisted the national flag and inspected the parade. The district magistrate Abhishek Ruhela dwelt in detail the progress made by the country since the Constitution was enforced on the first Republic Day in 1950. After the parade, children from various schools and the family members of the police employees and officers took part in cultural programmes. On the occasion, the father of the late mountaineer Savita Kanswal, Radheshyam Kanswal was presented a shawl.
