A cake mixing ceremony was held at the courtyard of Namah Nainital hotel in Nainital on Wednesday amidst the playing of Carol music. A number of tourists now visiting the picturesque lake city and children studying in several schools participated in the celebration.

The celebration began with the singing of the Christmas songs by the students from St Mary’s Convent. This was followed by cake mixing- a mixture of walnuts, almonds, cashews, raisins and cherries.

Speaking of the importance of the ceremony, the general manager of Namah Nainital, Medha Bhattacharjee said that such events are crucial for promoting tourism. “The pre-Christmas cake mixing ceremony is the first step towards preparing for the arrival of Christmas,” he said, adding that the cake would take a month to complete and would be cut on the occasion of Christmas.
