The leader of opposition in State assembly Yashpal Arya has said that Narendra Modi is showing animosity towards Congress leader Rahul Gandhi because it wants to keep him silent on the issue of Adani. He said that Rahul Gandhi would however continue to expose the relationship between Adani and Modi. Interacting with the media persons at Jairam Ashram here on Friday, Arya said that Rahul Gandhi is being targeted because he asked two simple questions from the PM about Adani.
He said that Rahul Gandhi on February 7 said that Adani has Rs 20,000 crore in his shell companies and asked the source of this money. Showing the pictures in parliament, Rahul Gandhi asked questions about the relationship the PM has with Adani. Das said that nine days after his speech in parliament over the Adani scam, the defamation case against him was revived.
He claimed that for the first time in the history of the country the ruling party did not allowed the parliament to function. Arya said that the united opposition wants a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) on the issue. He said that Rahul Gandhi had given two written notices to the Speaker to allow him to speak in parliament but he was not given permission.
The Congress leader said that the BJP is levelling false allegations on Rahul Gandhi in order to divert the attention from the Adani scam. He said that the government machinery worked at a speed which was equivalent to light to disqualify Rahul Gandhi from the parliament within 24 hours of the judgement of the lower court even though the court had given a time of 30 days for appeal in the high court. This shows that BJP is afraid of Rahul Gandhi.
The LoP said that the allegation levelled by BJP President JP Nadda that Rahul has insulted the OBCs is mischievous and claimed that he had only asked- why is it that some thieves have Modi surname ? He never targeted any community. Arya added that neither Neerav Modi nor Lalit Modi is OBC.
Senior leader of Congress party Brahmswarup Bhrahmchari, Rakit Walia, Aman Garg and others were present on the occasion.
