Congress calls it personal visit for spiritual & religious reasons

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Kedarnath on a three-day visit on Sunday. According to party leaders, this visit is purely “spiritual and religious”. The MP and former Congress president reached Dehradun airport and flew to Kedarnath in a helicopter from here. The Congress State vice president Mathura Dutt Joshi said that Rahul Gandhi had reached Kedarnath on a personal visit. He said, “This visit is not related to the party and is purely spiritual and religious. He will interact with the members of the Teerth Purohit fraternity and also meet the pilgrims visiting Kedarnath. He had visited Kedarnath after the 2013 disaster so he will also be seeing what the condition of Kedarnath is now. The Pradesh Congress Committee welcomes him. His visit will definitely benefit Uttarakhand,” Joshi said. The senior Congress leader is slated to leave for Delhi on November 7.
It will be recalled that two years after the 2013 Kedarnath disaster, Rahul Gandhi had visited the temple in 2015. He had trekked to Kedarnath in 2015 when the Congress government was in office in Uttarakhand.
